Drexel University Freshmen Get 'Smart' Backpacks

Genevieve Dion, an associate professor in Westphal College and director of the Shima Seiki Haute Technology Lab and Drexel’s Center For Functional Fabrics, was quoted in a Sept. 17 KYW-Newsradio (1060-AM) story about Drexel freshmen receiving functional fabric backpacks, which were designed and created by the Advanced Functional Fabrics of America a research and development partnership program started by the Department of Defense. Drexel leads a regional research hub for AFFOA.
