College Football’s Top Teams Are Built on Crippling Debt

Karen Weaver, EdD, associate clinical professor and interim director of the sport management program in the Center for Hospitality and Sport Management, was quoted in a Jan. 4 Bloomberg story regarding the massive debts football teams are accruing for their universities. Weaver’s research is highlighted throughout the breakdown of rising cost pressures, falling revenue and the college football business model. Weaver was also quoted in a Jan. 6 Comeback article.
