Higher Risk of Heart Disease for Blacks in Poorer Neighborhoods

Sharrelle Barber, ScD, a research fellow at the Dornsife School of Public Health, was quoted in a HealthDay story on the study she did along with dean Ana Diez Roux, MD, PhD, on the effects of socioeconomic status of neighborhoods on cardiovascular disease in black residents. This story was picked up Jan. 17 by U.S. News & World Report and Philly.com, along with more than a dozen local newspapers across the country.
