Too Much Folate in Pregnancy 'May Raise Autism Risk'

Craig Newschaffer, PhD, director of the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute and professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, was quoted in a May 11 AFP story on a study linking increased folic acid intake during pregnancy and potentially increased risk of autism in children. Newschaffer said there is a need for further understanding of folic acid's role. The story was picked up by Yahoo! Finance and the Daily Mail.
