Black Males 3 Times More Likely to Be Killed by Police

James Buehler, MD, a clinical professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, was quoted in a Dec. 21 U.S. News & World Report story about his study that found that black males are three times as likely as white males to be killed as a result of police action. He was also quoted stories the same day in The Root, Ebony and Jet magazine. Buehler was also quoted in a Wilmington News Journal editorial Dec. 21 that cited his study and quoted him when discussing the settlement of a lawsuit against the Wilmington Police Department. Buehler also appeared on WHYY/Newsworks Dec. 21. His study was also mentioned on KOMO-AM (Seattle), KFBK-AM (Sacramento) and KFYI-AM (Phoenix).
