Welcome to Hell: Philadelphia Has a Serious Case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

An article in the September issue of Philadelphia magazine featured the impact of violence and trauma on the city’s youth. Featured and quoted in the article were Dr. John Rich, a professor and chair of the department of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health and director of the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice, and Dr. Theodore Corbin, an assistant professor in the College of Medicine and medical director of the “Healing Hurt People” violence intervention program of the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice. The article’s author also discussed these issues and cited Drexel’s expertise and efforts to address violence and trauma in an interview on WTXF-TV (FOX-29) . Dr. Sandra Bloom, an associate professor in the School of Public Health and co-director of the Center, was quoted in the story.
