Euisun Kim, PhD
Kim is an expert on drawing on nature to guide the design of soft robotics systems that can perform tasks like picking up and sorting objects of all shapes and sizes. She has also developed and tested robot technology, such as exoskeletons, that can support physical rehabilitation.
Kim leads Drexel Bio-inspired Robotics and Design (BIRD) Lab in the College of Engineering, where her team is developing soft robotics systems inspired by the movement of octopus tentacles and inch worms. In addition to her robotics development work, Kim has also conducted research on using robotics as a platform for engineering education.
She holds degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology and Hadong Global University and has published numerous papers on brain-controlled robotic prosthetics and exoskeletons, as well as other medical robotics technology.
