Jason Baxter, PhD

Jason Baxter
Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering

Baxter is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the College of Engineering. He is an expert in the areas of solar energy conversion and solar cell design. He can comment on new technologies being developed and used in solar energy technology.

His research group focuses on understanding how thin films and nanomaterials can be used to improve solar cells and on finding new ways to engineer these materials for better results. Baxter’s background in chemical engineering enables him to study the finest details of the energy conversion process. His research group is currently developing new methods to produce and study materials for solar energy conversion — the results of this work will contribute to better-performing solar cells that are cheaper to produce.
