About sixty-six million years ago a planet-wide catastrophe brought the non-avian dinosaurs to their demise, and the end of the Cretaceous period was marked by a mass extinction of its fauna and flora. New data, published in the journal Science, says it’s possible that intense volcanic eruptions in India coincided with the worldwide extinction – ultimately cementing the fate of the massive reptiles.

Tower Health and Drexel University have secured appropriate accreditation approval to establish a new four-year regional campus of Drexel University College of Medicine in West Reading near Reading Hospital. A 20-year academic agreement between Tower Health and Drexel University was signed today. The campus will be operational for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Silicon anodes are generally viewed as the next development in lithium-ion battery technology. Silicon’s ability to absorb more charge translates to longer battery life and smaller batteries, if researchers can check the physical expansion of the silicon that comes with charging. Research from Drexel University and the Trinity College in Ireland, suggests that adding MXene ink to the silicon electrode-making process would do just that.

With the help of a $5 million gift from Greg S. Bentley, CEO of Bentley Systems, and his wife Caroline, Drexel University will create a new epicenter on its campus for honors students. The gift comes at a time when construction is already underway at Calhoun Hall, an existing student residence hall, that will be fully renovated as part of Greg and Caroline Bentley Hall, a new complex that will house a true “living/learning” community for honors college students. In addition to the renovated student residence, Bentley Hall will also include a new, two-story glass and stone addition of about 10,800 square feet that will house the Pennoni Honors College offices and seminar rooms.

The nail salon industry has seen rapid growth within the last 20 years, becoming increasingly popular among women of all ages who like to get their nails professionally done.
