The Center for Food & Hospitality Management along with the Office of Veteran Student Services held a Veteran’s Lunch in the Academic Bistro in November 2018.

For years, Drexel University’s Academic Bistro has been offering the best dining deal on the University City Campus: a three-course, $12 meal. Yes, you read that right — three courses (soup/salad appetizer, protein/pasta entrée and a dessert) for all of $12.

After a refresh this fall, the Center for Food & Hospitality Management’s professional dining room will resume its Thursday and Friday lunch service for the next two terms, starting Jan. 31 and ending March 15.  Reservations, which are recommended, can be made here.

The menu options vary by week — you can get a taste of the latest by checking with the Center for Food & Hospitality Management’s FacebookInstagram and Twitter accounts. But usually, the first course will be a choice of a soup or salad, the second course will feature a protein-based or a fresh pasta-based option and the third course features a chocolate or fruity dessert. There will also be some specials that will be told table-side.

All of the dishes will be prepared and served by culinary, nutrition and hospitality students in the Center Food for Hospitality Management. The two classes working within the Academic Bistro this term are “Food and Beverage Customer Service” taught by Paul O’Neill, an assistant clinical professor of hospitality, and “Commercial Food Production” taught by Chef Instructor Jim Burke.
