It’s that time of year again when Drexel’s Study Abroad Office holds its annual photo contest for students to showcase the amazing sights and experiences they’ve enjoyed while studying abroad. And just like in past years, the student-submitted photos beautifully capture moments in time in magical foreign countries and document the places Drexel students are invited to travel — all while causing some serious wanderlust.
There were 132 photos submitted by 44 students (who were allowed to send in a maximum of three pictures). The photos spanned 31 countries and five continents, ranging from Iceland to Peru to Singapore to Cuba to Morocco. Italy ended up being the most-photographed country in the contest, as it was featured in 15 photos; the Czech Republic came in second, with 12 photos; and England and Greece tied for third place with 10 photos.
The pictures were submitted on Feb. 3, with all photos posted to the Drexel Study Abroad Facebook page three days later. For a week, people voted by liking, commenting and sharing their favorite photo, all of which awarded points to the student who submitted the photo. The winners were announced on Feb. 13, and the five students with the highest scores received Amazon gift cards.
