Academic Opportunities Fair Lets Students Explore Their Options
Drexel held the 2017 Academic Opportunities Fair on Feb. 22 to give current students ideas about how the University’s programs and offices can help them achieve their long-term goals. More than 300 students visited Behrakis Grand Hall in the Creese Student Center to get connected with resources to help supplement their academic experience at Drexel.
Students had the opportunity to explore dozens of undergraduate majors and minors and their requirements, as well as the process for changing majors. There was also information available on the experiential programs that combine to make Drexel unique — civic engagement, study abroad, international co-op, research and more. Students learned about the various services and organizations on campus to support the academic journey, including the Center for Learning and Academic Success Services, which offers help in any academic areas where a student may need it.
In addition to showing Drexel’s undergraduates the breadth of academic offerings and possibilities available to them, the event also allowed the University’s faculty and staff to learn about the strategic initiatives of different academic units. It is all in service of the University’s long-term goal of creating and sustaining academic collaborations and finding connections that help students reach their goals.
