Dr. Adam Fontecchio, associate dean of undergraduate affairs in Drexel’s College of Engineering, will join 85 of the top engineering researchers in the country at the National Academy of Engineering’s Frontiers of Engineering Symposium in September. The 17th annual symposium is an exclusive event that will be held at Google Headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
“We’re proud of Adam representing Drexel to the highest caliber of researchers in the country. Adam’s research exemplifies Drexel’s mission to solve the problems of tomorrow,” said Dr. Bruce Eisenstein, interim dean of the College of Engineering.
Dr. Fontecchio’s research focuses on nano-photonics and new methods of nano-manufacturing, including electro-optics, liquid crystals, inkjet printing of polymers, and flexible electronics. He was selected by his peers from a group of 315 nominees between the ages of 30 and 45 representing the top minds in academia, industry and government.
Symposium participants will spend three days from Sept. 19-21 presenting their work and discussing interdisciplinary collaborations on topics such as additive manufacturing, engineering sustainable buildings, neuroprosthetics and semantic processing.
Drs. Youngmoo Kim and Bill Regli, both of the College of Engineering, previously represented Drexel at the Symposium.
