What: A 15 x20’ interactive canvas designed by artist Yoko Ono will be installed at Drexel’s new Leonard Pearlstein Gallery as part of Ni Una Mas—The Juarez Murders (Not One More) exhibition. The piece includes a large fabric canvas with slashes to represent the hundreds of women murdered at random in Juarez. When the exhibition debuts at Drexel, students will sew the canvas back together as a symbol of the healing process.Ono’s piece is one of more than 70 works by 20 international artists including Kiki Smith, Nancy Spero, Irish activist painter Brian Maguire and local Philadelphia artists Arlene Love and Jen Blazina. Ni Una Mas, meaning “Not One More,” will open May 16 and run until July 16.
