WHAT: One-hundred outstanding middle and high school students from the greater Philadelphia area and their teachers and principals will be honored for their commitment to community service and social justice at the 14th Annual Champions of Caring Recognition Program and Celebration. The Mother Teresa Humanitarian Award will be presented posthumously to Dr. Constantine Papadakis for his lifelong commitment to educational excellence and promoting civic engagement. His daughter, Maria Papadakis will accept this award. The Champions of Caring Community Partner Award presented to State Farm Insurance for their commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.The Champions of Caring Legacy Award will be presented to Hajri Frasheri, whose Muslim family rescued Jews in Albania during the Holocaust. The Honorary Champion of Caring Award will be presented to local photographer and Champions of Caring Advisory Board Member Julie Miller.
