Final Farewell: Funeral for Drexel President Constantine Papadakis to Be Held on April 14
Drexel students, faculty and staff, and all who were touched by the life and vision of Drexel University President Constantine Papadakis will join his wife Eliana and daughter Maria in a final farewell on Tuesday, April 14. The funeral service for Dr. Papadakis will take place at noon at St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church, 35 N. Malin Road, Broomall, Pa. Officiating will be His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, head of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, and His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey.Media will have access at the church. Reporters are encouraged to notify the Drexel University News Bureau at 215-895-6741 or 215-778-7752 to get designated parking.Classes will be suspended during the service, which will be webcast live for the Drexel community at the following campus locations: University City Main Campus: -Main Building Auditorium, (32nd and Chestnut Streets), -Mitchell Auditorium, Bossone Research Enterprise Center (Market Street between 31st and 32nd Streets) Center City Hahnemann Campus: -Stiles Hall, Multipurpose Room, (first floor, 325 N. 15th Street) -Geary Auditorium B, New College (245 N. 15th Street)Dr. Papadakis, who was in remission from cancer, died unexpectedly from pulmonary complications on April 5.
