Drexel to Hold Information Sessions in Roseville for New Sacramento Center

Drexel University will be holding the first of three Roseville Information Sessions on Tuesday, July 22 for students interested in attending the university’s new Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento.The center will begin with five master’s programs in January 2009 and add four more in September 2009. The five programs opening in January are Business Administration, Engineering Management, Higher Education, Information Systems, and Library and Information Science. The Drexel center will offer a blended format of online and face-to-face classes that meet the needs of busy adults. All classes will be offered at One Capitol Mall in Sacramento.The July 22 Information Session will be held from 6-7 p.m. at Larkspur Landing, located at 1931 Taylor Road in Roseville. Subsequent Roseville sessions will be held at the same time and place on Wednesday, Aug. 20 and Thursday, Nov. 6. Information Sessions are also being held in downtown Sacramento through December.Each hour-long session covers everything students need to know, including how to apply and how to secure financial aid. Drexel staff will be on hand to answer any questions. Refreshments will be served. Students who submit an application online will have their application fee waived.A $10 million Sacramento Leaders Fellowship Fund was established for graduate student support. The fellowships will be awarded annually based on academic qualifications, and to encourage partnerships with area businesses, whose up-and-coming leaders will be able to obtain the practical education they need to succeed. Fellowships will be available in amounts up to full tuition and are based on the quality of the student’s undergraduate record and professional experienceDrexel’s Sacramento Center will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, including wireless access for student laptops and technology support. Students will be linked to all the resources of Drexel’s main campus, including program resources, financial aid, libraries and career assistance. Sacramento onsite staff will meet the needs of students and faculty, providing a high level of support throughout the educational process.
