Report your Community Service Hours Using Our New Civic Engagement Database, Galaxy

How Do I Report Community Service Hours?

The Lindy Center uses Galaxy, a website where students can browse local nonprofits and sign up for volunteer opportunities and events and report service hours. All of the Drexel Community has access to create a user account on this volunteer portal. Once you find opportunities you like, feel free to check out this user guide on how to log hours, and get connected with the issues that matter most to you!

Student groups, clubs, and organizations also have the option to create their own "organization page" on Galaxy to recruit volunteers from the entire Drexel community to participate in service opportunities sponsored by their group! For student groups with volunteer requirements, Galaxy is great tool for tracking hours served by each member all in one place! Student Groups wishing to set up a designated organization page on Galaxy should reach out to the Lindy Center at lindycenter@drexel.edu

What are the Benefits to Reporting my Community Service Hours?

1. Create a Record for Yourself: By logging your community service hours, you're creating a record for you to easily reference at a later date. Whether updating your resume or speaking about your community service experiences in co-op and job interviews, you'll want to have as much information as you can!

2. Get Counted: Drexel students do so much amazing civic engagement work! While an exact number of community service hours may be an impossible task, help the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement get one step closer in reporting this number to our supporters. Think of the impact we can have together!
