Employment and Labor Law

The Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice on a broad range of employment, benefits and labor law matters including:

  • developing and implementing University employment policies
  • developing and implementing administrative processes for hiring, disciplining and terminating University employees;
  • assessing, investigating and responding to employee discrimination claims;
  • drafting and reviewing agreements relating to employees;
  • training on legal issues and employment policies;
  • negotiating collective bargaining agreements;
  • addressing grievances;
  • general compliance with state, federal and local employment laws.
