Employment and Labor Law
The Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice on a broad range of employment, benefits and labor law matters including:
- developing and implementing University employment policies
- developing and implementing administrative processes for hiring, disciplining and terminating University employees;
- assessing, investigating and responding to employee discrimination claims;
- drafting and reviewing agreements relating to employees;
- training on legal issues and employment policies;
- negotiating collective bargaining agreements;
- addressing grievances;
- general compliance with state, federal and local employment laws.
