The importance of volunteerism and pro bono work is an integral part of Drexel University’s Office of the General Counsel. The term pro bono is shorthand for the Latin phrase pro bono publico – "For the public good." Our office endeavors to provide support and services for the public good in harmony with Drexel University’s goals for civic engagement. In addition, as attorneys and legal professionals who play an active role in the legal and justice systems, we recognize that we can embrace civic engagement in ways exclusive to our profession.

Our OGC professional staff actively supports the community through volunteer work and the provision of legal and legal-related services. These include providing legal services to nonprofit and governmental agencies and the individuals who seek assistance from, those agencies; presenting at Continuing Legal Education programs; and serving on Committees and Boards of Professional Associations and other organizations.
