John Klibanoff, MD, FAAOS, ABOSD Lt. Col. US Army (retired) VP, Global, Medical Education and Surgeon Relations, Zimmer Biomet John Klibanoff, MD, FAAOS, ABOSD, LTC US Army (retired), or Dr. K, practiced Orthopaedic Surgery in Rochester, NY for 30 years. His career included academic appointments, lead physician for Western NY Orthopaedics, and Medical Director of the Joint Institute at Auburn. His training was through the Universities of Virgina, Massachusetts, and residency at Minnesota and his expertise included joint reconstruction, shoulder/sports, limb reconstruction and trauma. He spent 15 years with the military through both Gulf Wars and considers it the highest honor to provide care to the United States service personnel. Throughout his career, Dr. K. positioned patient care, research, and training as key vectors for success and through his position since the beginning of 2025 with Zimmer Biomet now adds globalization and thought partnership to the advancement of science and knowledge in the musculoskeletal space. Dr. Klibanoff has also served as Board Director and Chairperson to various organizations, including several not-for-profit groups and welcomed the opportunity to assist in the Coulter-Drexel Translational Research Partnership Program oversight board. He brings his medical background and prior bench research in virology and biology to bear in the process of engaging and promoting worthy projects through the Coulter-Drexel program.
