Ari Brooks, MD has been instrumental in the development of several patient programs including a “virtual” multidisciplinary breast center at the Hahnemann and Graduate Hospital sites. The centers offer multidisciplinary evaluation and coordinated care for breast cancer patients. The centers also serve as an enrollment point for clinical studies in surgery. Both sites received full accreditation for three years. Dr. Brooks introduced a program in minimally invasive surgery for end-stage GI cancers and hepatocellular cancer, including laparoscopic bypass and radiofrequency ablation and built the infrastructure for the Drexel/Tenet Women’s Health Project, a program that provides screening and treatment for breast and cervical cancer to uninsured women, funded by the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Healthy Woman Project. The program has provided over 5,000 screening mammograms to date, diagnosing and treating 50 cancers that would have otherwise gone undetected. Dr. Brooks received his MD from Hahnemann University.
