Congratulations! You have collected some nice images / movies of your specimen. Yet another tantalizing task awaits you: data analysis/interpretation.
The Cell Imaging Center houses two computer workstations to assist you.
The first workstation is location in Room 308 and is dedicated to the reconstruction and processing of images acquired by the super resolution microscope.
The second and third workstations in PISB Room 408 contain a variety of image processing and analysis software such as Imaris, Volocity 3D, Slidebook 6, ImageJ, FV10-ASW, and Zen 2010. In addition to simple quantification of intensities and contrast / size manipulation of images, advanced processing software allows:
- 2D and 3D deconvolution to remove out-of-focus blur
- 3D reconstruction and rendering of z-stacks
- volume & surface calculation of 3D objects
- particle / cell counting
- particle / cell tracking
- colocalization analysis of multiple fluorophores
FlowJo is also available on the computer workstation analysis in Room 408. FlowJo is a software for viewing and analyzing flow cytometry data. FlowJo's sophisticated tools allow for generation of statistics, graphs, and tables. FlowJo's strength is in analyzing whole experiments encompassing many related samples. FlowJo has a number of different analysis platforms that let you not only perform standard analyses such as gating and statistics, but also specialized analyses such as DNA/cell cycle, kinetics (calcium flux), proliferation, calibration and statistical comparison.
