CIC Advisory Committee (CICAC)
The Cell Imaging Center Advisory Committee is charged by the Executive Vice Provost for Research & Innovation (EVPRI), comprised of Drexel faculty and staff with the express purpose of advising the CIC Director of Operations and the EVPRI to help the facility develop and meet its strategic, financial and operational goals.
Responsibilities of the Committee:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the CIC.
- Promoting stewardship of the CIC operations and resources, including the creation/revision of operational policies and guidelines, and compliance with any internal or external regulations.
- Reviewing and assisting with the Annual Report of the CIC to the Executive Vice Provost of Research (EVPR; Aleister Saunders).
- Identifying and advocating for current and future needs, equipment or operational, of the CIC.
- Making recommendations on the addition or discontinuation of CIC instrumentation or peripheral components.
- Reviewing and making recommendations to the EVPR on proposals and cost-sharing for the acquisition of new instrumentation through external grant funding (e.g., NSF's Major Research Instrumentation, NIH's S10 or equipment supplement) and internal funding opportunities (e.g., Scholarly Material & Research Equipment Award).
- Provide a conduit between the CIC user base and leadership on matters of CIC operation by bringing any concerns or recommendations to the attention of the CIC directorship and advisory committee.
The committee held its inaugural meeting on March 10, 2022.
