Join special guest speaker Chris Gibson, former U.S. Congressman for New York’s 19th and 20th District and a retired Army colonel with over 24 years of service, for a discussion followed by a Q&A session. Gibson is widely recognized for his bipartisan leadership with a focus on national security, veterans’ issues, and rural development.
Career Trajectory
Chris Gibson served with distinction for 24 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of colonel. Gibson earned four Bronze Stars and was awarded the Purple Heart. He taught at West Point –the United States Military Academy, went on to become a national security fellow at Stanford University, and earned his PhD in Government from Cornell University. After retiring from the Army in 2010, Gibson served for three terms in Congress from 2011-2017 before becoming a professor at Williams College. In 2020, he became president of Siena College, later retiring in 2023. In 2025, he published his third book,
The Spirit of Philadelphia: A Call to Recover the Founding Principles.
