Chemistry Fall Seminar

Friday, November 17, 2023

11:00 AM-12:30 PM

Join us on Zoom this Friday, November 17th at 11:00am for another installment of our Fall Seminar Series! Dr. Rebecca Scheck from Tufts University's Department of Chemistry will be sharing her research.

About Dr. Scheck:
Rebecca is originally from New York and attended Columbia University as an undergraduate. She performed her graduate work with Prof. Matthew Francis at UC Berkeley, where she developed transamination chemistry to modify proteins under mild conditions. In her postdoctoral work at Yale University with Prof. Alanna Schepartz, she applied a chemical tool to study the differential activation of a cell surface receptor in living cells. Since joining the Tufts University faculty, her lab has focused on developing new chemical approaches that can be used to study protein post-translational modifications in living cells. In particular, the Scheck lab focuses on naturally-occurring protein modifications that have been particularly difficult to study using traditional approaches. Rebecca was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2022.

This seminar will be on Zoom Only. Join us here.
