Making Assessment More Accessible in General Chemistry: Identifying Challenging Features in Assessment Items”

 

This talk will discuss how general chemistry exam items can be made more accessible to English language learners. We will examine sample exam items and how these items can be systematically modified to be more accessible. Students’ perceptions of these items along with the types of features that they found to be most challenging within these items will also be discussed.
