The Life and Legacy of President William Walsh Hagerty
Friday, June 10, 2016
1:00 PM-2:30 PM
Join the Libraries in the 100 Years celebration of former President William Walsh Hagerty. Dr. Hagerty was a transformative president, who guided the Drexel Institute through the initial steps toward becoming a comprehensive research university.
Richardson Dilworth, a co-author of the upcoming book on Drexel history, will place the Hagerty presidency in the larger context of Drexel’s history and his lasting legacy at the university. Dilworth will also place Drexel in the context of Philadelphia, to understand the larger impact that Hagerty had on the city.
At this event, the Libraries will unveil a Cake Boss cake of the W. W. Hagerty Library building in celebration of what would have been President Hagerty's 100th birthday. Cake will be served at the conclusion of the talk.
