Physics Graduate Admissions FAQ
How can I check the status of my application?
After your admission application has been processed, you will receive an email with your Discover Drexel username and password. Logging in to Discover Drexel is the fastest way to check your application status.
What factors are considered in the application review process?
The physics admissions committee holistically evaluates each candidate for admission. Important factors include strength of preparation in undergraduate and previous graduate coursework (particularly in core areas of physics), demonstrated interest and experience in research (particularly in areas of current faculty research at Drexel), and recommendations from faculty or others who know the candidate well.
How can I arrange a visit to the Department of Physics?
Admitted students will be invited to visit. Visitors to the Philadelphia area are also welcome to visit the Department. Please contact the Associate Department Head of Graduate Studies, research labs and/or contact individual faculty directly to inquire about their availability during your visit.
Where do I send any supporting materials for my application?
Include your student identification number, intended program of study, or date of birth on all correspondence with the University. It will be easier for the admission staff to quickly match your application materials with your file if this information is included. Do not send any supporting material directly to the Department of Physics. For more information regarding applications, please contact enroll@drexel.edu.
