Leslie Calimer began her academic career in 1989 at Women's Medical in the continuing nursing education department. She has worked with registered nurses in the home study department as an administrative assistant offering tests through the RN magazine and online for nurses to receive CEUs for their licenses. Calimer became project manager in the NCLEX department in 2003, forming partnerships with community colleges to assist graduate nurses to pass the NCLEX the first time! She joined the advising staff in July 2010 for the RN-BSN Degree Completion program. Leslie obtained a BS in Communications and Applied Technology through Goodwin College in 2015 and an MS through the School of Education in September 2017 at Drexel University.

Shannon Edwards joined Drexel University's professional staff in the fall 2016. He recently moved to Philadelphia from Omaha, NE, but grew up in Dunbar, WV. He received his BA in Psychology from West Virginia State University. During his time working for a non-profit organization called College Summit, Shannon discovered his passion for working with students and helping them reach their career aspirations. While working for several different universities, Edwards gained expertise in academic advising, enrollment counseling, financial aid assistance and recruitment. He likes to exercise, participate in community outreach events, play sports and spend time with family and friends. .

Kerry joined Drexel University’s professional staff in Spring 2019. She moved to Philadelphia from New York to complete her Master’s of Science in Higher Education at The University of Pennsylvania. Kerry found her love for the field of higher education while receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Counseling and Human Services at The University of Scranton and being heavily involved in campus clubs and activities. After completing her master’s degree, she worked at Rosemont College in the Department of Mission and Ministry. During her time at Rosemont, she gained experience advising students facing many different aspects of the collegiate experience. Outside of work, Kerry enjoys exploring new towns, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Andrea Perry joined Drexel University’s professional staff in 2007 and became an academic advisor for the BSN Co-op program in 2009. Perry began her undergraduate studies at Drexel, then graduated magna cum laude with a dual degree Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Art History from Tyler School of Art. She holds a MS in Communication from Drexel and is currently pursuing a MS in Legal Studies. She fully understands the demands and pressures faced by students, as she knows from personal experience – changing majors, transferring to another college, studying abroad and working part-time throughout college. In her free time, Perry enjoys spending time with her friends and family (including her cats and dog), gardening, hiking, reading and attending concerts.

Justin Wentzel Headshot Justin joined the College of Nursing and Health Professions professional staff in the Fall of 2019, but was no stranger to Drexel University. He served as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions from 2016-2019 where he recruited students from various states along the east coast. He worked as a liaison to Lebow school of Business within direct recruiting. Justin holds a degree in Sport Management from California University of Pennsylvania where he graduated from in Spring 2015. Although Justin’s vision was not always placed within higher education, he made his way into the collegiate coaching field, which led him to both admissions and advising students navigate their own journey. Justin is currently the Assistant Coach of the Drexel University’s Cheerleading team on main campus. Justin is originally from Reading, PA and is proud to be a first generation college graduate. He enjoys traveling, volunteering at animal shelters, exploring historical sites, and spending time with his many nieces and nephews.

Robert joined Drexel University in fall 2017 advising the online Health Services Administration program and Medical Billing and Certificate program; then transitioned to Health Sciences and nutrition Sciences at the start of 2018. Rob earned a BS in Business Management and Psychology from Millersville University and an MS in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University. Prior to this role, Rob was a school counselor for schools in the Bucks County area.

Rob resides in scenic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Outside of work, he coaches CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting to both youth and masters athletes. He enjoys exercising, binging on the latest TV series with his wife and finding new and interesting places to eat (he loves food) with family and friends.

Leah started her Drexel career in 2013 as learning center coordinator for the Center for Academic Success (now the Center for Learning and Academic Success Services). Previously, she worked in higher education fundraising and program management at West Chester University Foundation. In 2014, Leah transitioned into the role of academic advisor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive space for students as they pursue their goals, navigate resources and make connections in the Drexel community. Leah earned a BA in English from Pennsylvania State University where she was a Schreyer Honors College Scholar. She completed an MS in Human Resource Development at Drexel University in 2016 and is a proud Drexel Dragon! She is committed to fostering opportunities for positive intercultural communications through her volunteer work in tutoring English as a Second Language and supporting international exchange programs.

In her free time, Leah enjoys photography, attending concerts and traveling to new destinations.

Kate joined Drexel's professional staff in August 2011 as a technical services coordinator for the undergraduate nursing programs and made the transition to academic advisor in September 2012. Kate was a 2016-2017 recipient of the Provost’s Exemplary Academic Advising Award. She became a senior academic advisor in June 2018.

Kate earned a BA in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Stockton University, an EdM in Social Studies Education from Rutgers University and an additional Endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL) from Stockton University.

Kate is passionate about supporting students as they develop and attain goals, access university resources, and, ultimately, complete their academic programs. A special area of professional interest is working to build connections with the college’s part-time, online learners as they navigate the university from a distance.

Kate enjoys spending time with her family, including her wonderful husband, two awesome kiddos and running buddy, Maya the dog. Her hobbies include playing on the beach, running, birding, reading, dining out, and going on family adventures.

Kelly joined Drexel University in February of 2014 as an academic advisor for the Center for Food and Hospitality Management advising students in Culinary Arts and Science, Food Science and Hospitality Management. In July of 2019, the Center officially became part of the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Kelly earned a BS in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey and an MS in Education with a certification in School Counseling from Monmouth University. Before coming to Drexel, she was working as a school counselor in New Jersey.

Kelly was born and raised at the Jersey Shore, so in her free time she enjoys going to the beach, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Cynarra Tweed joined Drexel University in the summer of 2016. Much of her background comes from Colorado State University where she completed her bachelor of arts, started her graduate studies and worked as an educational programmer working to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and other forms of institutional oppression. Social justice and diversity have always influenced both her professional and academic careers. Her commitment has been to cultivate a safe and inclusive environment for all students that support their development and retention. Specifically, Tweed's commitment and interest lie in disrupting systemic marginalization of diverse and historically under-represented students. Over the years she has had the pleasure of serving students in a variety of capacities, including victim advocacy, teaching, advising and facilitating workshops/trainings on different topics of identity from a social justice framework.

Rhonda earned a BS in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology in 2000 from Drexel University and a EdM in Higher Education Administration from Temple University in 2005. She brings 15 years of higher education experience, including policy development, implementation, market planning and recruitment activities, data collection and program evaluation, and direct student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels for both campus and distance-based programs. Student success is at the heart of her advocacy efforts with a particular focus on promoting policies and practices that foster a more diverse and inclusive university environment.
