Drexel PA Student Society Awarded for Community Service June 12, 2013 The Wilbur W. Oaks Physician Assistant Student Society of Drexel University was awarded the 2013 Outstanding Graduate Student Society Award for the group’s efforts in community service. The students worked with PA programs at other schools to raise money for the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Foundation. Last year they raised money for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The award was presented by the Graduate Student Association at their annual award ceremony on May 23. “I am so impressed with the leadership and dedication of the PA students,” said Julie Kinzel, a clinical instructor in the Physician Assistant Program and the Student Society’s advisor. “They are truly engaged in becoming well rounded PA’s who not only advocate for their patients but also give back to the community as healthcare providers.”
