Christian Brenner, MHS ’13, joined the practice of Premier Orthopaedic Associates of South Jersey in Vineland New Jersey as a Physician Assistant. Brenner previously worked as an athletic trainer and physical therapy assistant.

Kate Funk, MFT ’12, was featured in an article on pressofatlanticcity.com. She launched programs and services for teen girls suffering from eating disorders and body image issues at the Nancy Crafts Counseling Center in Cape May where she works. Funk recovered from an eating disorder during her adolescence and began developing the programs at Nancy Crafts Counseling Center in response to the lack of eating disorder recovery resources in Cape May County, New Jersey.

Kathleen B. Hoffman, MSN ’04, the Chief Operating Officer of Family Home Medical Home Health Agency in Mount Carmel, was elected to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association Board of Directors and will serve a three year term. The homecare and hospice industry provides medical, personal and end-of-life care in the homes of nearly one million Pennsylvanians each year, and the PHA Board of Directors oversees the movements of the industry. Hoffman was the first certified foot care nurse in Pennsylvania and additionally serves on the foot care committee and as an item writer for the National Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification Board.

Holly Husted, MS ’07, joined Bronson Internal Medicine Oshtemo in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.

Terri Evrard Joyce, PA ’97, was promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, and started in that position in January 2013. She previously worked as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor and guest lecturer at the University. Joyce has been a preceptor for Physician Assistant, medical, and EMT students since she graduated in 1997. She is a member of the Computer Physician Order Entry Advisory Committee at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and is on the Physician Assistant Department Accreditation Committee, Physician Assistant Department Curriculum Committee, and Physician Assistant Program Advisory Board at Clarkson University.

Toyin Okenla-Ojeaga, MSN ‘02, was named “Leading Woman of the Week” by Business Day magazine in Nigeria, her native country. She has a variety of degrees in accounting, science, business administration, and nursing from colleges in both America and in Nigeria. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree from the University of Texas Health Science, has a medical practice, operates several businesses, and has a contract assignment with the Department of Justice’s Office of the Marshall. Okenla-Ojeaga is a Nurse Practitioner at the Obstetrics/Gynecology Specialist Center in McAllen, Texas. She plans to move back to Nigeria to establish a private medical practice and a school of nursing.

Leigh Ann Simmons, MFT ’00, was appointed Associate Professor at Duke University’s School of Nursing. She is additionally a Senior Research Fellow in the Duke Center for Research on Prospective Health Care and a Senior Faculty Fellow for Clinical and Translational Research at Duke Integrative Medicine.
