Study of Music for Cancer Patients Featured in the Cochrane Journal Club
September 15, 2011
A Cochrane review study led by Joke Bradt, an associate professor in the Department of Creative Arts Therapies, was highlighted as the featured review in the September issue of the Cochrane Journal Club. The Cochrane Journal Club is a monthly publication aimed at trainees, researchers, and clinicians. It provides an in-depth look at one of the hundreds of recently published or updated Cochrane Library review studies, as well as multimedia resources, discussion points, and the opportunity to ask the authors questions about the research.
Bradt’s comprehensive review of studies of music interventions for cancer patients found that music eased anxiety and also showed benefits for mood, pain, and quality of life.
