Carolyn Tassini, PT, DPT, CEEAA, CBIS-T earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and later completed her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions. She went on to complete her residency in Neurologic Rehabilitation at MossRehab and achieved board certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS).
Tassini has a diverse clinical background, with experience across acute care, acute rehabilitation and outpatient settings. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals with severe traumatic brain injury, helping them work toward meaningful recovery and improved quality of life. She is especially passionate about promoting safe and healthy aging, particularly for individuals recovering from neurologic injuries. Her research has explored innovative approaches to rehabilitation, including canine assisted therapy and the use of Taekwondo as a therapeutic intervention for people with neurologic injuries.
Tassini finds great joy in helping students connect what they learn in the classroom to real-life clinical practice and encourages her students to consider the whole person in their approach to care. In addition to her teaching role at Drexel University, she maintains clinical practice in outpatient neurologic rehabilitation. She enjoys bringing fresh, practical insights from her work with patients into the classroom, ensuring her students stay connected to the “why” behind what they learn.
