2025-26 Drexel Housing Options for Second-Year and Upper-Class Students

As we approach the opening of the housing application for Drexel residence halls on Saturday, February 1, the Drexel Housing and Residence Life team would like to share a few reminders and resources to help students make an informed housing decision.

Second-Year Students and the Two-Year Residency Program

Rising second-year (current first-year) students are reminded that Drexel’s Two-Year Residency Program requires second-year residential students to choose to live in a Drexel residence hall, an American Campus Communities (University Crossing, Chestnut Square, or the Summit) property, or a fraternity or sorority house (with an invitation from the organization). American Campus Communities is the only Drexel-affiliated housing partner with options that fulfill the residency requirement for second-year students for 2025-26.

Housing for Upper-Class and Transfer Students

Although transfer and upper-class students (third-year and above) do not have a residency requirement, many choose to live in a Drexel residence hall or a Drexel-affiliated property for its convenience and location (residence halls are centrally located to academic buildings and popular dining and retail).

Applying to Live in a Drexel Residence Hall

Starting Saturday, February 1, second-year and upper-class students can apply to live in suite-style accommodations in a Drexel Residence Hall on the University City Campus. The fee for living in a Drexel-managed facility (residence hall or house) will be billed directly to your eBill account. Drexel also offers flexible terms to accommodate students with Study Abroad or Co-op opportunities outside the Philadelphia area.

Important Drexel Dates to Remember:

• Saturday, Feb. 1: The 2025-26 housing application opens in DrexelOne for all current students.
• Thursday, May 15: The $200 housing deposit will be waived for all current students who complete an application by this date, referred to as the “priority deadline.” Students who apply by this date can participate in the room self-selection process in the summer. Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be subject to the $200 housing deposit and will be administratively assigned after the room self-selection process if space allows.

Applying to Live in a Fraternity or Sorority House

Second-year and upper-class students may choose live in a fraternity or sorority house with an invitation from the organization. Students with organization approval must complete the Drexel housing application, which opens on Saturday, Feb. 1.

To apply, log in to DrexelOne, click on the “Campus + Community” tab, and then “Housing and Dining Portal” to begin your housing application.

Leasing with American Campus Communities

Students who choose to lease with American Campus Communities (ACC) must contract with ACC directly where the student pays all expenses directly to ACC. ACC is already accepting lease applications for 2025-26. Students interested in living in an American Campus Communities property are advised to apply during Priority Period to improve the chances of getting their preferred housing option.

• Thru January 31, 2025: ACC’s Upper-Class Priority Period is an opportunity for rising third-year students and above to submit a 2025-26 lease application.  

• February 1 – 28, 2025: ACC’s Second-Year Priority Period to submit a 2025-26 lease application begins February 1.
