On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Bisnow (a digital media company) hosted the “Philadelphia Student Housing & Higher Ed Development Summit” in Center City, Philadelphia. The summit was a collaborative platform where attendees, including panelist speakers from the construction and higher education sectors, came together to discuss topics such as current design trends incorporated within universities’ campuses, student housing expansion across the city, property investments, and housing revitalization.

The panel on 'Student Housing Developments: Inside Look at Design & Construction' was honored by the expertise of Drexel University’s associate vice president of Business Services, Don Liberati. He was joined by esteemed panelists Joe Coyle, the President of Student Living at The Michaels Organization; Warren Burke, the Executive Vice President of Development at Campus Apartments; and Ben Roberts, the Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder of Utopi.

During the panel, Liberati and the three other panelists discussed not only the design features and amenities students need in a living space to succeed and feel comfortable but also practical solutions, such as how universities can efficiently use private partnerships to create more student housing without overspending.
