Reminders and Complimentary Services for Spring Off-campus Move-out
Off-campus students like you are essential in developing positive relationships between the University and the community. Some families in our surrounding campus communities have lived in their homes for generations and care deeply about their neighborhoods and property. Please review these items regarding moving out of your residence, disposing of your trash appropriately, and being respectful to your neighbors.
In particular, Drexel students living in the Powelton Village, West Powelton and Mantua areas (from Mantua Avenue to Market Street and 31st to 42nd streets) may participate in complimentary services in partnership with the Enterprise Center and Rego (which benefits local non-profits). These services are available June 18 – July 5, 2024.
- For Bulk Trash Curbside Pick-up: Students living in the eligible service area are encouraged to place items for curbside service no earlier than 6 a.m. and no later than noon daily for a same-day pick-up to reduce overnight debris. The Enterprise Center will conduct two daily ‘sweeps’ of the coverage area for bulk trash items. Items that qualify for bulk pick-up include mattresses, tables, dressers and other furniture items. This service will not pick up household trash, including bagged trash; residents should follow their standard City trash and recycling guidelines. Outside of 6 a.m. – noon, students may dispose of bulk items at three dumpster locations: 3240 Powelton Ave. (off-street/curb); 3412 Powelton Ave.; and 3608 Powelton Ave.
- For Donation via Rego: Drexel partnered with Rego to help residents donate or dispose of used furniture more easily and affordably, while helping provide items to local non-profits. For more information on this program, visit the Rego website.
In addition, as you prepare to move out:
- Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately: The complimentary curbside service will no collect household trash, including bagged trash; residents should follow their standard City trash and recycling guidelines.
- Maintain your property's appearance: Leave your property the way you found it when you moved in. Keep your property clean and clear of debris, and be aware of the trash and recycling pick-up schedule. Help keep the neighborhood clean by handling any garbage blown onto the property.
- Be considerate of on-street parking when loading your vehicle: Parking and loading can be challenging in any city. Take precautions to leave space for your neighbors and be mindful of the space between cars, especially if you are loading items into your car.
Remember, you are a steward of Drexel University both on and off campus, and we appreciate your attention to and consideration of being good neighbors in our community.
