2024-25 Drexel Housing Options for Second-Year and Upper-Class Students
As we approach the opening of the housing application for Drexel residence halls on Saturday, February 3, the Drexel Housing and Residence Life team would like to share a few reminders and resources to help students make an informed housing decision.
Drexel’s Two-Year Residency Program
Drexel’s Two-Year Residency Program requires that second-year residential students live in a Drexel residence hall, an American Campus Communities (University Crossing, Chestnut Square, or the Summit) property, or a fraternity or sorority house (with an invitation from the organization). American Campus Communities is the only Drexel-affiliated housing partner with options that fulfill the residency requirement for second-year students.
Although transfer and upper-class students (third-year and above) do not have a residency requirement, many elect to live in Drexel-affiliated housing.
The following information is intended to help second-year students and above make an informed housing decision:
Drexel Residence Hall Options for 2024-25
Beginning Saturday, Feb. 3, second-year and upper-class students may apply to live in Caneris Hall or Bentley Hall (for students participating in the Honors Living Learning Community) on the University City Campus. Students may also select from apartment residences in Stiles Hall on the Center City Campus. The fee for living in a Drexel-managed facility (residence hall or house) is billed directly to your eBill account. Drexel also offers flexible terms to accommodate students with Co-op or Study Abroad opportunities outside the Philadelphia area.
A few dates to know:
- Saturday, Feb. 3: The 2024-25 housing application opens in DrexelOne for all current students.
- Wednesday, May 15: The $200 housing deposit will be waived for all current students who complete an application by Wednesday, May 15. Students must apply by this date, referred to as the “priority deadline,” to take part in the summer’s room self-selection process. If you apply after the priority deadline, you will be subject to the $200 housing deposit and administratively assigned after the room self-selection process if space allows.
To apply, log in to DrexelOne, click on the “Campus + Community” tab, and then “Housing and Dining Portal” to begin your housing application.
Applications for Living in a Fraternity or Sorority Housing for 2024-25
Second-year and upper-class students may also live in a fraternity or sorority house with an invitation from the organization. Students with organization approval must complete the Drexel housing application, which opens on Saturday, Feb. 3.
To apply, log in to DrexelOne, click on the “Campus + Community” tab, and then “Housing and Dining Portal” to begin your housing application.
Leasing With American Campus Communities
Students who choose to lease with American Campus Communities (ACC) must contract with ACC directly; the student pays all expenses directly to the property manager or owner.
A few things to know:
- ACC is now accepting lease applications: ACC is currently accepting lease applications for the 2024-25 academic year.
- Ending Feb. 2, 2024, is ACC’s priority period for upper-class students. Rising third-year students and above will have zero deposit fees and save up to $350 if they apply during the upper-class priority period.
- Feb. 3 – 29, 2024, is ACC’s priority period for rising second-year students. Rising second-year students save up to $350 if they apply during the priority period.
- ACC offers various floor and lease plans, including Co-op options; however, some plans are limited, so students are advised to apply early for the best availability.
