Local Caterers Take Spotlight at Northside Dining Terrace
On Tues., Oct. 3, Drexel Campus Dining, in collaboration with the Enterprise Center, hosted the grand opening of Authentic Ethnic Cuisine, a West Philadelphia-based catering concept, as Aramark celebrated the reopening of Local Restaurant Row at Northside Dining Terrace.
This collaboration provides Authentic Ethnic Cuisine, offering dishes from African, Caribbean and Black American cultures with its first brick-and-mortar location.
“Inviting local restaurateurs to serve their dishes at locations managed by Aramark is a tried-and-true strategy for adding variety, authenticity and fun. At the same time, it is a great opportunity for those restaurants to reach new customers and test their menus,” shared Nicholas Mendez, the resident district manager of Aramark for Drexel Campus Dining.
Authentic Ethnic Cuisine is a small, family-owned business based in West Philadelphia. They serve dishes from African, Caribbean and Black American cultures. Although their menu includes favorites such as the jerk chicken sandwich, the salmon wrap and vegetarian bean soup, the weekly dinner specials like Rasta Pasta with your choice of chicken, salmon or vegetables keep customers coming back for more.
Authentic Ethnic Cuisine is truly a family business. When you visit Chef Art Brown, you might see his sister, Saunsiree, or his granddaughter behind the counter, and they serve you like family.
Drexel Campus Dining invites the Drexel community and the Powelton Village neighborhood to visit Northside Dining Terrace at 203 North 34th Street to try Authentic Ethnic Cuisine through the fall term. They’ll serve lunch and dinner weekly Monday – Friday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. through Dec. 15, 2023.
