Drexel BIOMED has pushed the boundaries of science and technology for more than half a century. Our mission is to promote health and quality of life through education, research and innovation. Our faculty actively collaborate with international partnerships all over the world. Below, we highlight two of our international programs:

International Students Tackling Advanced Research (STAR) Program

The iSTAR program provides an opportunity for you to participate in faculty-mentored paid-research, scholarship, or creative work during the summer in an international setting, while broadening your cultural horizons in China, Israel, Italy, Spain, Scotland, Australia, and Turkey.

Study Abroad & Exchange Programs

Where will you be this summer? You will have the opportunity to study abroad and gain valuable appreciation of another country's perspective on the world, and to deepen your understanding of yourself, your role, and your impact.

Healthcare for Humanity

Our teaching, research and community-based service activities are focused on achieving clinical and industrial relevance, while serving as the ideal learning experiences to prepare students for industry, graduate or medical school:

Drexel Cooperative Education Opportunity

Our Co-op program is one of the oldest and most expansive in the world; you will gain up to 18 months of résumé-enhancing practical, engineering experience by the time she graduates. You can choose from more than 1,700 employers including GlaxoSmithKline, Integra Life Sciences, NASA, Johnson & Johnson, Merck and Lockheed Martin.

Translational Design-Clinical Immersion Cooperative Education Opportunity (Co-Op)

In the Clinical Immersion Co-op, you will develop an appreciation for interdisciplinary design, an ability to innovate therapeutic solutions, and an understanding of the design constraints imposed by the clinical environment in which the new biomedical devices will be utilized.

Students Tackling Advanced Research (STAR) Program

A forerunner to the iSTAR program, the STAR Scholars program is a paid experience allows you to participate in faculty-mentored research at Drexel during the summer following your first year at Drexel.
