Monitoring the Brain on the Go During Navigation in a Botanical Museum
Our ongoing collaborative DSI project (monitoring brain on the go during navigation in a botanical museum) was featured with a cover story in Chimes magazine that can be accessed online:
A team of researchers from Drexel University Biomed utilized wearable neurotechnology as part of an innovative study to measure how our brain responds to nature. The team of graduate and undergraduate researchers led by Dr. Hasan Ayaz collected and recorded brain activity and other wearable biomedical sensors to measure physiological activity such as heart rate, and electrical properties of the skin as participants walked around Longwood Gardens. An emerging interdisciplinary research field, neuroergonomics, seeks to study the brain’s health and performance in real-world environments. “We want to understand human brain function, its relation to complex behavior, and in its natural everyday life environment, ” said Hasan Ayaz, PhD, associate professor at Drexel’s School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems.
Hasan Ayaz Presents Keynote Lecture on Observing the Brain at Work in Everyday Life at NeuroIS Retreat – May 2023, Vienna, Austria
Invited Talk at Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) Focused on Neuroergonomics and Cognitive Engineering – July 2023, San Francisco, CA
Keynote at the first Neuroscience of Everyday World (NEW) Conference – August 2023, Boston, MA
Dr. Hasan Ayaz was keynote speaker at the inaugural Neuroscience of Everyday World 2023 Conference that took place in Boston University, Boston, MA. The Neuroscience of the Everyday World (NEW) conference, aims to bring together leaders in the fields of computer science, biomedical engineering, cognitive science, neurology, and clinical neuroscience to present state-of-the-art research, all focused on the study of continuous brain measurement in real-world activities.
Dr. Hasan Ayaz was Invited to Give Plenary Lecture at the Inaguaral National Neuroimaging Conference of Turkiye & 2nd Joint German-Turkish Human Neuroscience Symposium – September 2023, Ankara, Turkiye
The conference was hosted and organized by Gazi University, Ankara University and Orta Doğu Teknik University and aims to bring together scientific and engineering communities focused on neuroimaging. The German-Turkish Neuroscience symposium was organized in collaboration with Max Planck Institute for human cognitive and brain sciences.
