Dr. Kara Spiller Is a Featured Expert on NPR/Inside Higher Ed's "Academic Minute"

Kara SpillerDr. Kara Spiller, associate professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, was featured in a piece titled, “Harnessing the Body’s Immune System for Better Wound Healing” on the March 15th episode of NPR/Inside Higher Ed’s “Academic Minute” to discuss her research on wound healing. Her appearance was part of a series featuring Drexel experts on "Academic Minute" during the week of March 14, 2022.

Dr. Spiller’s research interests include the role of immune cells in tissue regeneration, the design of immunomodulatory biomaterials, and international engineering education. Her research is funded by the NIH, the NSF, and private foundations, with awards that include a Fulbright fellowship, the NSF CAREER award, and the United States nomination for the ASPIRE prize.
