Congratulations! This year marks your 50-year Hahnemann or Medical College of Pennsylvania reunion and entry into the Golden Dragon Society, which welcomes alumni who have graduated in 1974 or earlier.

As you’ll see below, there are many events planned to commemorate this exciting milestone!

THURSDAY, MAY 9

Hahnemann Class of 1974 Welcome Reception and Dinner

5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; The Logan Hotel
Catch up with friends old and new and reminisce about your Hahnemann days at this cocktail reception followed by a private dinner. A class photo will be taken.

MCP Class of 1974 Welcome Reception and Dinner

5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; The Logan Hotel
Kick off Alumni Weekend with your MCP classmates at this cocktail reception followed by a private dinner. A class photo will be taken.

FRIDAY, MAY 10

Hahnemann and MCP 50-Year Reunion Philly Bus Tour

Tour: 9 to 11:30 am; Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Various Locations, Philadelphia
Visit some of the city's most historic and medical-focused locations, followed by an early lunch (at your own cost) at the iconic Reading Terminal Market. After lunch, a bus will bring guests back to the Logan Hotel and University City. Tour stops include:

  • the original Broad Street location of Hahnemann University Hospital
  • the President's house and the Liberty Bell
  • Independence Hall - Yellow Fever: Race and Public Health
  • Annual Reminder Plaque and Barbara Gittings
  • Pennsylvania Hospital
  • the Mazzoni Center

Sips and Sutures: College of Medicine All Alumni Reception and Dinner

6 to 9 p.m.; Historical Society of Pennsylvania
Join Charles Cairns, MD, dean of the College of Medicine, to explore the Society’s medical history repository with alumni from College of Medicine and all of its legacy schools as you enjoy a reception, dinner and a spirits and dessert tasting.

SATURDAY, MAY 11

College of Medicine Today: Talk, Tour and Lunch

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Drexel University Health Sciences Building
Enjoy a panel discussion – including Charles Cairns, MD, dean of the College of Medicine – on the College of Medicine today and the current student experience, followed by a tour of the state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building and lunch. The Legacy Center will be on hand with materials on display from your time as med students.

Hahnemann Class of 1974 50-Year Reunion Reception

4 to 6 p.m.; The Logan Hotel
Gather with fellow Hahnemann ’74 grads at this cocktail reception and then keep the festivities going at Drexel After Dark.

MCP Class of 1974 50-Year Reunion Reception

4 to 6 p.m.; The Logan Hotel
Enjoy another opportunity to connect with fellow MCP ’74 alumni during a private reception before closing out the weekend at Drexel After Dark.

Drexel After Dark

6:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
Enjoy exclusive access to PAFA at this festive reception for all alumni from Drexel University, College of Medicine and its legacy schools. Graze your way through heavy hors d'oeuvre stations, enjoy an open beer and wine bar and dance the night away! In addition, take in the beautiful PAFA student artwork on display.

Guests may arrive at 6 p.m. for exclusive access to PAFA’s Historic Landmark Building and explore its main exhibit, Artists As Cultivators, which examines how artists have fostered and sustained critical social dialogues over three centuries through their use of nature as a subject, theme and material. Access to the Historic Landmark Building will be limited from 6 to 7 p.m.
