Congratulations to the 89 graduates of doctoral programs in the College of Nursing and Health Professions in 2020! The College offers the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Health Science (DHSc), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Doctor of Couple and Family Therapy (DCFT), and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degrees.
The five PhD programs within the College prepare graduates for careers in research and academia and require an original research dissertation. The DHSc program prepares health professionals for leadership roles in education and/or health care. The DNP program prepares nurses for leadership roles as executives or advanced practice nurses. The DCFT is an advanced clinical degree for individuals interested in assuming leadership roles in clinical settings, as program administrators and as educators. The DPT program prepares graduates to be outstanding clinicians in the practice of physical therapy.
