At least 220 students came to hear George Yancy, PhD, speak at the Distinguished Presenters Series launched last year by the College of Nursing and Health Profession's Board of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. His lecture was entitled "The Danger of White Innocence," and sparked interest in continuing the conversation about many of the topics he raised.

Ann Bonner was a kid when she realized the appeal of caring for people, but she was older when she figured out that being a physician assistant would combine all aspects she loves. Alec Proctor wasn’t sure how to realize his dream of a career in medicine until he found this profession.

Shaina DePaul has a relative she particularly admired growing up, and because her aunt is a nurse, DePaul was able to land her first job in medicine early in her life. It was there that she discovered nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and the rest, as they say, is history. After graduating from Drexel’s program in 2016, this New York physician assistant and her husband take advantage of their new home city and their love of travel every chance they can.
