STUDENT NAMED TO PAEA HEALTH POLICY FELLOWSHIP

Headshot of a studentKimberlin Trauthwein, DUPAP ’20, has been accepted into the Student Health Policy Fellowship (SHPF) cohort of the Physician Assistant Education Association. The SHPF is designed to enhance students’ understanding of the political process and health policy. The ultimate goal is to inspire and prepare fellows for lifelong grassroots advocacy, both in Washington and at home, that promotes the PA profession as an integral part of the health care system.

She had success in meeting with congressman Dwight Evans. She will be writing an Op-Ed on the importance of PA student advocacy.

Kim’s graduate project was a presentation on the importance of knowing and being taught what various dermatologic conditions look like in skin of color.

Well done, Kim!

STUDENT ACCEPTED INTO EXCLUSIVE EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESIDENCY

Michelle Aranyi, DUPAP `20, was accepted into the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Emergency Medicine PA residency. The program, which is extremely competitive, aims to enhance the knowledge of certified physician assistants in the field of emergency medicine through various disciplines receiving hands-on training in intensive care units, the emergency department, operating room, outpatient and inpatient clinics.
