Online Teaching Institute
Online Teaching Institute
Whether you're new to online teaching or looking to take your skills further, advance your practice and connect with a community of fellow Drexel educators in the Online Teaching Institute.
The Online Teaching Institute is a 6-week, cohort-based program designed to equip college instructors-whether new or experienced-with the skills to create effective, engaging, and inclusive online courses. Through a blend of synchronous and asynchronous sessions, participants will develop skills in online course design, teaching strategies, and assessment techniques. The program emphasizes creating accessible, inclusive learning environments while also strengthening communication and organizational skills for online teaching. Synchronous sessions offer opportunities for real-time collaboration, while asynchronous modules support reflection and direct application to your own courses.
By participating in this program, faculty will improve their ability to:
- Use integrated (backward) course design to create effective online courses
- Apply teaching strategies that cultivate authentic online learning experiences
- Implement evidence-based techniques for assessment and feedback online
- Foster inclusive and accessible online learning environments
- Design an organization and communication plan for online courses
