Canvas Transition Update and Supports
This message was shared with faculty and professional staff members on April 17, 2026.
Dear Colleagues,
This spring, more than 500 courses are being taught in Canvas — a significant milestone that reflects the strong momentum of this University-wide effort. We anticipate even broader adoption this summer as more faculty begin teaching in Canvas ahead of the full transition. As a reminder, all courses will move to Canvas beginning in the Fall 2026 term.
We are also pleased to report that most Drexel system integrations with Canvas are now complete. As a result, please note the following:
- Students will be able to access Canvas courses directly through links in DrexelOne starting on Monday, April 20, 2026, streamlining access and improving the overall user experience.
- Starting with Summer Quarter 2025-26, courses that are running in Canvas will not have a course in Drexel Learn, as all of the integrations and tools are now in place.
- Gateway and other first-year courses are now encouraged to transition to Canvas, as the Early Warning System will be fully implemented in Canvas by the fall term.
If you are interested in teaching an upcoming course in Canvas, please contact your course scheduler.
Resources and Support
The following resources are available to support you in this transition:
- Canvas Office Hours for Spring Quarter: The Instructional Technology Group will provide instructors with immediate answers to quick questions. No registration required — simply drop in to any listed session.
