Farrah Moldover

I have benefitted tremendously from Drexel University and its co-op program. I have been fortunate to be selected for two co-ops with Johnson & Johnson, both in the pharmaceutical and consumer sectors. During those coops I communicated with German manufacturing sites on a daily basis. In addition, a study-abroad program in Berlin and a concentration in Germanic Studies have led me to apply for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals.

I will be spending an entire year in Germany, learning German, attending university courses at the RWTH Aachen University, and completing a five-month internship at a German company. I am thrilled about this opportunity to pursue Materials Engineering in Germany and gain work experience abroad. I am part of a group of 75 young Americans who will experience everyday life, education, and professional training in Germany.

Here at Drexel, I am a member of the Natural Polymers & Photonics (NPP) research group, led by Dr. Caroline Schauer, an Associate Professor in the department of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE).  My primary research interests are the application of natural polymers for biomedical sensing platforms.  I have also been a Mentor in the College of Engineering Peer Mentorship Program for entering students.
